Barcode lookup APIs
These pages compare APIs that take a UPC or EAN and return the product.
- Best sneaker barcode API: six options compared. Barcodes.gg, KicksDB, Retailed.io, UPCitemdb, Go-UPC and Barcode Lookup in one table, with a short answer for each use case.
- UPCitemdb alternative. When a general UPC database is the better fit, and when a footwear database is.
- Barcode Lookup alternative. How to compare Barcode Lookup with a sneaker database when we could not read its prices.
Sneaker price APIs
These pages compare APIs that return resale prices per size.
- Best sneaker price API: six options compared. Barcodes.gg, KicksDB, SoleFetch, Packet, Retailed.io and the StockX API: marketplaces, prices per size and entry plans.
- KicksDB alternative. KicksDB takes no new sign-ups. The page maps KicksDB features to Barcodes.gg endpoints.
- Packet alternative. Packet covers more marketplaces. Barcodes.gg goes from a barcode to the prices of its size in one call.
- SoleFetch alternative. GOAT and Alias data from SoleFetch against StockX and Alias prices per size from Barcodes.gg.
Example builds
Each example is a short program that calls the Barcodes.gg API.
- Discord price bot. A /price command that answers with the lowest ask on each marketplace.
- Price monitor. An hourly job that sends an alert when a size drops to your target price.
- Inventory software. A scanned barcode becomes a style code, a size and the prices for that size.
The Barcodes.gg APIs
Our barcode lookup API returns the product, the size and an image for a UPC or EAN. For resale prices, the sneaker resale price API returns StockX and Alias prices per size, by style code or by barcode. We list each change in the API changelog, newest first.
How these comparisons are made
We read each competitor figure on the vendor site and show the date on the page. Prices stay in the currency of the vendor. We do not quote match rates or speed, because we did not measure them. Plans change, so check the vendor site before you buy.
Try it with your own barcodes
7 days, 100 requests, no payment method. Lookups that find nothing are not charged.

How a price-comparison site is built on barcode data
Comparing one product across forty shops only works if every shop is talking about the same product. That identity problem is a barcode and style-code problem before it is a pricing one.
