GS1 Digital Link builder and parser

Turn a valid UPC, EAN or GTIN into a structured GS1 Digital Link URL and QR code, or decode a link into its identifiers. Everything runs in your browser; nothing you enter is sent to us or a QR service.

Build a Digital Link

Use a domain you control for a real link. example.com is a placeholder and will not serve your product page.

Parse a Digital Link

Read the supported GS1 identifiers in a URL. This does not visit the website or verify product ownership.

What is a GS1 Digital Link?

A GS1 Digital Link is a web address that encodes GS1 Application Identifiers. For example, https://example.com/01/00036000291452 carries a GTIN in AI (01). It can be encoded in a QR code for a scanner to interpret or used as a web link if its domain is configured to serve a page or resolver.

What this tool supports

It validates GTIN check digits, pads GTIN-8/12/13 to 14 digits, and builds or reads AI (01) GTIN, AI (10) batch, AI (21) serial and optional AI (17) expiry. Batch and serial accept a practical subset of GS1 characters (letters, digits, ._~-); an expiry day of 00 means the last day of the month. Other GS1 identifiers and compressed links are outside this tool’s scope. A valid-looking URL does not prove that the GTIN is registered, that the domain resolves, or that a product is authentic.

Digital Link versus an ordinary QR code

A normal QR code can contain any URL. GS1 Digital Link defines where the identifiers go in that URL, so GS1-aware systems can read a GTIN and optional qualifiers. To put this QR code on packaging, use your own working HTTPS domain and test both the scan and the destination before printing. See the GS1 Digital Link URI syntax standard.
