What Packet is
PCKT, LLC, a Delaware company, runs Packet. Its home page calls it "Unofficial APIs & Datasets for Developers". The documentation lists Alias, Amazon, Chrono24, Flight Club, GOAT, Kicks Crew, Kream, Nike, Novelship, Poizon, Shopify, SNKRS, StockX, Vinted and Yahoo Finance, with cached versions of StockX, GOAT and Shopify. The Packet changelog limits Poizon to the US region.
Packet is the successor of KicksDB. A Packet blog post of 21 October 2026 says that KicksDB no longer accepts new sign-ups. The KicksDB alternative page covers that move and has a KicksDB to Barcodes.gg endpoint map.
Where Packet is stronger
- Price per call. Developer costs €29 per month for 50,000 credits. A live StockX, GOAT, Alias or Flight Club call costs 1 credit, and a cached catalog call 0.3 to 0.4 credits. That is about €0.58 per 1,000 live calls. Barcodes.gg Standard Plus, the first plan with prices, costs €7.90 per 1,000 calls.
- Live StockX and GOAT. Live endpoints query the source for each request. The Packet changelog gives a cache of 5 to 30 minutes on these calls. Barcodes.gg has no GOAT source.
- Free credits. The free plan gives 500 credits per month. Barcodes.gg has no free tier for prices.
- More data types. Packet has StockX sales history (the last 50 sales, with paging), GOAT and Poizon history, and lists of asks and bids. It also has a buyer checkout price with fees and batch cached prices for 20 ids. It offers datasets in CSV and JSONL, a TypeScript SDK and gRPC.
- More sites. Packet lists GOAT, Flight Club, Kream, Novelship, Poizon, Vinted and others. Barcodes.gg prices come from StockX and Alias only.
Where Barcodes.gg is stronger
- Barcode to size to price in one call.
GET /api/v2/prices/barcode/{barcode}finds the style code and size of the barcode. Then it returns the prices for that size from each site. Packet returns GTINs in its output, but its public API takes no GTIN as input. On 25 October 2026 the Barcodes.gg catalogue held 3.12 million barcodes, each stored with its size. - StockX and Alias in one call.
GET /api/v2/prices/{style_code}returns one row per site and market. Packet has one marketplace per endpoint, so live StockX and Alias prices take two calls and two credits. - A time on every size. Each size has its own
as_of, andis_stalemarks an answer whose newest price is older than 24 hours. StockX and Alias are pulled live when no price for the requested market is under 60 minutes old. Packet cached prices carryupdated_atand can be up to 24 hours old. - Published allowed values. Barcodes.gg takes
currency(30 StockX currencies),market(up to 3 StockX markets),regionfor Alias, consignandfresh, and the documentation lists every allowed value. Packet live calls takecountryCodeandcurrencyCode, but Packet publishes no allowed values. - Lookup by style code. Barcodes.gg uses the style code as the key. Live StockX calls at Packet need the StockX product UUID. Cached search at Packet works by name, brand or SKU.
- Misses are not charged. A product without cached prices returns
"error": trueand does not use a call.

Cost per answer
For one site, Packet costs less: about €0.58 per 1,000 live calls against €7.90 per 1,000 on Barcodes.gg Standard Plus. For StockX and Alias together the gap is smaller. A Barcodes.gg answer for one style code holds both sites, in one call. At Packet, each marketplace is a separate call. A barcode flow at Packet also needs your own barcode to product match first, because Packet takes no GTIN as input.
Packet balances expire after one month. Packet API requests stop at a zero balance unless you turn on auto-refill. Barcodes.gg plans have a monthly allowance, and a request past it gets HTTP 403.
When to choose Packet
- You need GOAT prices, live StockX prices or sales history.
- You need the country and currency of GOAT or Flight Club prices.
- You make many calls to one site and the price per call decides.
- You need sites that Barcodes.gg does not have, such as Kream, Novelship, Poizon or Vinted.
- You moved from KicksDB and want the closest feature set.
When Barcodes.gg fits better
- You start from a barcode, for example in a scan-in or stock-take flow, and need the price for that size.
- You want StockX and Alias prices for a product in one call, with a time on each size.
- You also need product data, size runs and images from the barcode, with the same token.
To decide, send 20 style codes and 20 barcodes from your own stock to both APIs. Count the products with a price, the sites per product and the calls each answer took. The full Barcodes.gg response is on the sneaker resale price API page. The sneaker price API comparison covers more options.
How this comparison was made
We read the Packet home page, pricing page, documentation, changelog and public OpenAPI file (api.pckt.sh/openapi.json) on 25 October 2026. Packet publishes no allowed values for countryCode, currencyCode or market, so this page lists none. We did not measure speed or match rates for either API. Plans change, so check the Packet pricing page before you buy.
Get resale prices by API
Resale prices from StockX and Alias are on Standard Plus (€79 per month) and higher plans. One answered request uses one call. A product without cached prices is not charged.
